The Great Vigil of Easter

It begins with the paschal fire, lit in the courtyard by Father Rob, then proceeds to the beautiful service of light when our Honourary Assistant , the Rev. Paul Johnson will chant the exsultet: ‘this is the truly blessed night when the things of heaven are wed to those of earth, and the divine to the human.’

This gorgeous service praises God’s creative and saving power in history, invites us as pilgrims to the font to re-affirm our baptism, celebrates the night of the resurrection of jesus, and culminates in the proclamation of the Easter Gospel by Father Rob, and the first eucharist of Easter!

A party follows where we share food and drink in fellowship.
